JOHN'S EPIPHANY
John had an epiphany when he was seventeen. Still in college, sitting in the library. Someone gently touched his right shoulder and said ' You will be a professional songwriter'...he still remembers that day like it was yesterday.
He was on a mission.
So he left his study books and walked down into the music section of the library. He looked at each book in turn, until he stopped at one in particular. The title was called 'How to Read Music.' Inside was a picture of a piano —this is why he plays the piano. He walked back up to the table, moved his books aside and began his new journey of becoming a professional songwriter and has never looked back.
Was it a voice from God or perhaps someone in the universe asking him to do this? Either way he's happy.

HOW THE NAME CAME ABOUT
Up to now, John was looking out for a catchy name that he could use for his music. He was looking for something that was easy to remember and could easily be written down. His birth name John Geraghty wasn't memorable enough and one afternoon he found it.
John sat in his Ford Ranger pickup truck and his mate Harry was sitting in the front passenger seat. His other crazy mate Gene was sitting behind Harry and he began hitting Harry over the head. I thought this was funny as Harry's a big guy and could easily sit on Gene and slowly suck the life out of him.
Anyway this continued until Gene shouted 'SmashHarry!'
"Hey! That's cool Gene. I'm gonna use that name for myself!"
The rest is history.
