As a college student, John (also known as SmashHarry) had a life-changing moment at the age of seventeen.
Out of nowhere, someone touched his right shoulder and gently said, "You will be a professional songwriter." To this day, he can vividly remember that moment. The only issue? John had no interest in music whatsoever. He couldn't play an instrument, write lyrics, produce music, or even listen to it much. He thought to himself, "If I'm going to be a songwriter, maybe I should learn an instrument and how to read music." So he left his study materials behind and ventured down to the music section of the library. After browsing through several books, John stumbled upon one with the title "How to Read Music." When he opened it, he saw what appeared to be piano keys on the pages. And from that day on, everything changed for him. He was determined to make it happen.
Although SmashHarry leans towards retro-filled funky pop tunes, expect to hear other genres including Soul, Singer-Songwriter, RnB, Hip Hop, Latin and Reggae hits. He is currently working on instrumental music. His first instrumental album is called Call of the Wild. Go to SYNC to hear more!
